Allyson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. Based in Broward County, she shares an office space with many unique and experienced therapists which offers the opportunity for collaboration. She has several years of experience in the field,  having the honor of serving a diversity of individuals and their families in inpatient and outpatient settings. Allyson uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psycho-educational, and humanistic modalities, as well as evidence based techniques to assist her clients in meeting their goals. She aims to meet clients where they are and works with them to determine the best course of treatment. She received her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University. She is well versed in working with mood disorders, anxiety, substance abuse/addiction, stress management, life transitions, and adjustment issues.

I believe that my role as a therapist is to be a supporter and a source of reflection and motivation to allow clients room to identify their own roadblocks and strengths in order to work towards managing their problems.

It is important to me that my clients to feel respected, heard, and understood in sessions. I am to be authentic with my clients so they can be comfortable opening up.

I have always had a passion for understanding the human mind and human behavior. I have a love for helping others come to a greater understanding of themselves so they can manage their emotions, process experiences, and improve quality of life.

I believe the in order for a person to "get better" they must first want to do something different for themselves. I believe that we all have the capacity to alter course, gain insight into ourselves, and create healthy habits that improve our quality of life
